NFL Mock Draft 3.0

Writer's picture: Jake SmithJake Smith

With 5 days to the draft, this will be my final mock draft of the year.

1. Cardinals

Kyler Murray QB Oklahoma

Previous Pick Kyler Murray

There has been some speculation that the Cardinals will not draft Kyler Murray and keep Josh Rosen, but I think they will stick with drafting Murray here at the number 1 pick.

2. 49ers

Nick Bosa Edge Ohio State

Previous Pick Nick Bosa

The 49ers here will draft the best player in the draft, who I’ve had them drafting in all of my mock drafts. The Niners will get another pass rusher next to Dee Ford who the traded for in the earlier part of the offseason.

3. Jets

Josh Allen Edge Kentucky

Previous Pick Josh Allen

Another Josh Allen in the AFC East? I think yes. After losing out on Anthony Barr this offseason the Jets need pass-rusher for their defense.

4. Raiders

Quinnen Williams DT Alabama

Previous Pick Quinnen Williams

A little known guy at this time last year might be the best player in this draft class, the Raiders will draft him to give them some big name as they move to Las Vegas next year.

5. Broncos (Trade with Buccaneers)

Drew Lock QB Missouri

Previous Pick Devin White

The Broncos who want their guy in Drew Lock, trade up with speculation that the Giants might take him with their pick so they can get their QB for the future.

6. Giants

Ed Oliver DT Houston

Previous Pick Dwayne Haskins

The Giants who have been saying that Eli Manning is their man, they draft Ed Oliver to give their defense a jump. Stay tuned to see if they draft a QB later on in the draft

7. Jaguars

Jawaan Taylor OT Florida

Previous Pick DK Metcalf

The Jaguars need to upgrade their offensive line. They get a Tackle who is very close to them in Gainesville in Jawaan Taylor who is the best Tackle in the class. They get him to help protect Nick Foles and Leonard Fournette.

8. Lions

TJ Hockenson TE Iowa

Previous Pick Devin Bush

The Lions desperately need to get Matt Stafford some weapons ASAP. TJ Hockenson, perhaps the best Tight End prospect in a long time. The only thing is the Lions last time the drafted a Tight End in the 1st round, it did not work out for them.

9. Bills

DK Metcalf WR Ole Miss

Previous Pick Ed Oliver

The Bills who have not a had a decent WR in forever it seems like. Bills who picked up Cole Beasley and John Brown during the offseason need a Number 1 guy for Josh Allen.

10. Buccaneers (Trade with Broncos)

Devin White LB LSU

Previous Pick Drew Lock

The Buccaneers get lucky with this pick with Devin White sliding to them. I had them picking him at 5th last draft but with the trade with the Broncos.

11. Bengals

Dwayne Haskins QB Ohio State

Previous Pick Jawaan Taylor

The Bengals get their eventual starting QB for the future. Zac Taylor who want to mold his own QB, they’ll take the local guy from Columbus to give them hope for the future.

12. Packers

Montez Sweat Edge Mississippi State

Previous Pick Montez Sweat

A lot of teams have taken Montez Sweat of their draft boards due to health issues, the Packers pick him due to their lack of pass rush on their team.

13. Dolphins

Rashan Gary Edge Michigan

Previous Pick Rashan Gary

A guy in any other draft class who can be a top player in the draft, fall out of the top 10 due to so much talent in the class. He can help the Dolphins replace Cameron Wake and give them a boost on the D-Line.

14. Falcons

Jonah Williams OT Alabama

Previous Pick Jonah Williams

The Falcons need Matt Ryan to keep playing at an elite level, they need to upgrade their O-Line so the can protect Matt Ryan.

15. Redskins

Daniel Jones QB Duke

Previous Pick Marquise Brown

The Redskins have been known to be in the market for a QB, they go out and draft a QB to help their future out.

16. Panthers

Clelin Ferrell Edge Clemson

Previous Pick Clelin Ferrell

A lot of the draft analyst have been saying the Panthers are going to draft Clelin Ferrell and that is no difference here. The Panthers need to add talent to their D-Line after losing Julius Peppers to retirement.

17. Giants (Trade with Browns)

Andre Dillard OT Washington State

Previous Pick Andre Dillard

The Giants are one piece away on the O-Line to having a decent line, they draft Dillard to help Saquon and Eli out.

18. Vikings

Cody Ford OG Oklahoma

Previous Pick Cody Ford

The Vikings need to help Kirk Cousins out and they get him a top Guard in the draft to help their O-Line troubles out.

19. Titans

Noah Fant TE Iowa

Previous Pick Noah Fant

Titans who have Delanie Walker but who is coming off an injury season, need to look towards the future in replacing him. They grab the other top TE prospect in Fant who is also from Iowa and give Mariota another weapon.

20. Steelers

Greedy Williams CB LSU

Previous Pick Greedy Williams

The Steelers who need a Corner draft the best Corner in the draft from DBU (yes I said it). He gives them hope in the secondary.

21. Seahawks

Taylor Rapp S Washington

Previous Pick Taylor Rapp

The need for playmakers in the secondary after losing The Legion of Boom in the last couple of years. Taylor Rapp who is a local talent stays in Seattle and will be a guy to look out for in the next couple of years.

22. Cardinals (Trade with Ravens)

Marquise Brown WR Oklahoma

Previous Pick Hakeem Butler

The Cardinals trade up to get their new QB a weapon from the same University in Marquise Brown from Oklahoma. Two years in a row they draft a WR in the 1st two rounds.

23. Texans

Greg Little OT Ole Miss

Previous Pick Greg Little

The Texans who have the worst O-Line in the league, they need to start looking to upgrading it ASAP. They need to get Deshaun Watson as much help as they can.

24. Raiders (Trade with Bears)

Devin Bush LB Michigan

Previous Pick Josh Jacobs

Devin Bush who fell in my draft falls into the laps of Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock. The Raiders who need playmakers on both sides of the ball get him to help cover Tight Ends and Running Backs.

25. Eagles

Dalton Risner OT Kansas State

Previous Pick Dalton Risner

Jason Peters is getting up there in age and the Eagles need to replacing the likely Hall of Famer. Dalton Risner is a late 1st round to early 2nd round guy who can fall anywhere between there land in Philly to learn how to be a pro.

26. Colts

DeAndre Baker CB Georgia

Previous Pick DeAndre Baker

The Colts who had a decently quiet offseason get a Corner who can be a help for the Colts as they try to make it back to the playoffs for a Second year in a row.

27. Raiders (Trade with Cowboys)

Josh Jacobs RB Alabama

Previous Pick Christian Wilkins

Josh Jacobs who I had going to the Raiders with the 24th Pick, now I have him falling a few more picks to get picked again by the Raiders who desperately need a RB.

28. Chargers

Christian Wilkins DT Clemson

Previous Pick Nasir Adderley

A man who could put the Chargers in the Super Bowl, Wilkins has that ability to do it. A two-time National Champion could bring some firepower to the D-Line of the Chargers.

29. Chiefs

Byron Murphy CB Washington

Previous Pick Byron Murphy

Last season the Chiefs lacked secondary. This year they have been trying to upgrade it. They acquired Tyrann Mathieu via Free Agency to help the safety position. They need to get a Corner to build the secondary up.

30. Packers (Trade with Saints)

AJ Brown WR Ole Miss

Previous Pick AJ Brown

The Packers have said that they do not want to draft a Wide Receiver but they need to because of the loss of Randall Cobb and the lack of play from there rookies last season. Aaron Rodgers only has so many years left and they to get the best out of him, so by drafting AJ Brown they can get the same production as they did out of Randall Cobb.

31. Rams

Dexter Lawrence DT Clemson

Previous Pick Garrett Bradbury

The Rams who are likely not resigning Ndamukong Suh need a to get a younger and cheaper D-Tackle who can help them make a return to the Super Bowl.

32. Patriots

Will Grier QB West Virginia

Previous Pick Will Grier

Patriots need a replacement plan for Tom Brady. They should look to draft a QB first or second round to get one of the top 5 QBs. Will Grier who can be the top guy out of all the QBs goes to the Patriots who he can learn from the best.
