The NFL season is just underway so it is the perfect time to look at the best running backs in the league. The usual suspects are sure to perform well this year but there always are a few guys each year that come out of nowhere and under the radar. Below we take a look at the top ten running backs in the league right now as well as a few honorable mentions that could climb up the list as the season goes on.
Honorable Mentions:
Tevin Coleman - Now this is a hot take. I see him in the mold of former Falcon Michael Turner. The fact he shares a backfield with Devonta Freeman masks the fact that he has crazy speed. He continued putting up good numbers as his snaps have increased. It could even be enough to where the Falcons trade Freeman.
Joe Mixon - I think Mixon is going to follow the same exact career path as LeSean McCoy. Much like McCoy now (and most of his career), Mixon suffers from a lackluster cast backing him up on both sides of the ball. Credit is due for his level of play despite this.
