With Carolina, Buffalo, and New York looking for a starting goaltender, here are some goalies that could possibly end up going to one of those teams.
1. Carter Hutton, STL:
He played A+ hockey when he got the chance to go in the pipes. He finished the 2017-18 season with a 17-7-3, which is great for a backup goalie. He also allowed a 2.09 GAA and a .931 save percentage, which is phenomenal. Robin Lehner is a free agent (current starter), and I’m almost sure Hutton will end up with the Buffalo Sabres.
2. Cam Ward (CAR)
Ward is a goaltender who really didn’t get much credit for his work. Even with Carolina missing the playoffs, Ward went 23-14-4. As well as a 2.73 GAA and .913 save percentage. He has been a winning goalie in his past 3 seasons and won 20+ games in the past 4 seasons. I say if he goes anywhere, he will end up with the NY Islanders.
3. Jonathan Bernier (COL)
It’s been a whirlwind of the past few seasons for Bernier. After a disastrous season in 2015-16 with LA, he was traded to Anaheim where he turned his career back to the right spot, going 21-7-0 on the season. This past season he was picked up by Colorado and went 19-13-0. He is most likely going to be headed to Carolina. I mean he can bring success to Carolina, as he contributed 40 wins in 2 seasons, as a backup.
