Semi-final Friday in the OVC

Evansville, Indiana:

It all comes down to this four teams remain, all vying for an at-large NCAA Tournament bid and conference supremacy for a whole year.

With all four top seeds remaining in the OVC Tournament, the action in Evansville will be must-watch basketball for even the most novice of college basketball fans.

Starting semi-final Friday night off with a bang will be the top-seeded Belmont Bruins taking on the Eastern Kentucky Colonels.

EKU will be coming into the matchup with Belmont playing their second game in two days, after defeating Tennessee State 58-48 in the quarterfinal round on Thursday night.

Belmont comes into the game as the one seed and well-rested after earning a double-bye in the 2020 OVC basketball tournament as co-regular season champions with Murray State.

The Bruins are led by Nick Muszynski in scoring and rebounds with an average of 15.2 points per game and 6.3 rebounds.

EKU and Belmont will tip-off in the first game at 7:00 p.m. central and will be televised on ESPNU.

In the last night, tip-off in Evansville, Murray State will be taking on Austin Peay in one of the most anticipated matchups of the tournament.

Austin Peay comes into the game following an impressive 76-65 win over Eastern Illinois to begin their journey in the OVC Tournament.

Friday nights matchup will be the rubber match between these two schools, with each winning one on their home courts. The latest matchup happened six days ago and ended with Murray State defending home court by a score of 75-61.

Like Belmont, Murray State comes into the tournament having earned a share of the OVC regular-season crown, and a double bye, all the while they look to earn a third straight OVC Tournament championship.

Murray State and Austin Peay are slated for a 9:00 p.m. tip-off on ESPNU, but will likely face a much later tip-off than planned.

Starting on Friday night, all of the college basketball will turn their eyes to the OVC for what has become the most loved conference tournament in March.
