Team LeBron will wear the number 2 in honor of Gianna “GiGi” Bryant and team Giannis will wear the number 24 in honor of Kobe Bryant. Since LeBron was the lead vote getter, he got to choose which number they wore and when asked why he choose the number 2 instead of 24, he answered with one word. “Zhuri” (his daughter). What a beautiful tribute to honor the father/daughter duo. The All-Star game format has underwent some changes to honor Bryant as well, they will include a Los Angeles Lakers-themed tribute to Bryant within the virtual shot clock, which will display a combination of gold and purple accents at 24 seconds and eight seconds remaining on the clock during the fourth quarter, in honor of Bryant’s 8 and 24 jersey numbers. For the fourth quarter, the game clock will be turned off and a final target score will be set, taking the leading team’s total score through the three quarters and adding 24 points, in honor of Bryant’s last jersey number.
