NFL Mock Draft 1.0

The NFL season has finally ended, now the start of mock draft season has come upon us. Here is my first round mock draft with trades and a few surprises.

1.Bengals

Joe Burrow LSU QB

The obvious pick for number 1 at this point. He had the single greatest season in the history of college football this season setting new records, winning the Heisman, and of course winning the National Championship. The Bengals should fall in love with Joe Burrow after that amazing season.

2. Redskins

Chase Young Ohio St Edge

The best player overall in the draft falls to the Redskins. Ron Rivera and Jack Del Rio should be drooling all over this pick. Chase Young will add to the young core they have at edge rusher and could be a game changing piece to this team.

3. Lions

Derrick Brown Auburn DT

The Lions have a need for many positions in this draft, but they need to take best available with this pick. The get Derrick Brown from Auburn who can be a presence in the middle for Patricia’s defense. Brown can help boost this pass rush that is really lacking.

4. Giants

Andrew Thomas Georgia OT

The Giants need an Offensive Line to protect their young QB in Daniel Jones and their stud Running Back. They get the best available Tackle in the draft in Andrew Thomas to help protect their blindside. With this pick the Giants most likely move Nate Solder to the Right Tackle.

5. Dolphins

Tristian Wirfs Iowa OT

A lot of people are predicting for the Dolphins to get a QB here with the 5th selection but their most needed spot is Offensive Lineman. They traded their best one away in Laremy Tunsil to gain a 1st round pick from the Texans. They can always get a QB later in the draft.

6. Chargers

Justin Herbert Oregon QB

The Chargers need a QB for the future and Herbert is the perfect QB to lead them in the future. Herbert is a west coast kid and I can’t see him leaving the west coast. The Chargers have the weapons to compete right now.

7.Panthers

Isaiah Simmons Clemson LB

The Panthers get Simmons who is a versatile athlete who can play many different positions on the field for the Panthers. Panthers need a Lineback after the surprise retirement of Luke Kuechly and Simmons is the best one in the draft.

8. Cardinals

Jedrick Wills Alabama OT

The Cardinals desperately need an O-Line for their young star in Kyler Murray. He had to scramble most of the time he was trying to throw and Wills from Bama should protect him pretty well. He has recently shot up the draft board and should be the Cardinals top choice at this point.

9. Jaguars

Jeffrey Okudah Ohio St CB

The Jaguars need a Corner after trading Jalen Ramsey to the Rams and they get the best possible corner in the draft in Jeffrey Okudah. He gives them an immediate impact that they deserve.

10. Dolphins (Trade with Browns)

Tua Tagovailoa Alabama QB

Dolphins trade up with the Browns to get the QB that they wanted in Tua. Tua falls because of his obvious durability issues. He might be the player in the draft and the Dolphins secure the QB of the future.

11. Jets

Jerry Jeudy Alabama WR

The Jets get a deep threat for their young QB. With Robby Anderson being a free agent, the Jets might need to look into the WR position in the draft. The draft is stacked with WR this year.

12. Raiders

Henry Ruggs III Alabama WR

Back to back Bama receivers go in my mock draft, even though CeeDee Lamb is still on the board. Raiders get a deep threat, which they desperately need after being caught up in the whole Antonio Brown debacle. Ruggs might be what the Raiders need to put them into playoff contention.

13. Colts

Javon Kinlaw South Carolina DT

People are predicting the Colts to get a QB, which I cannot see them getting one this early in the draft unless one of the top guys falls into the Colts laps. Kinlaw will be a force for the Colts D-Line that is lacking a presence in the middle.

14. Buccaneers

Mekhi Becton Louisville OT

The Buccaneers get Bacon to help protect their QB whoever that might be and to hopefully get somewhat of a run game for them. Bacon has shot up people’s mock drafts, in some I've seen him the top 5. I would have to see how his combine goes and to see he shoots up more on boards and in mock drafts.

15. Broncos

CeeDee Lamb Oklahoma WR

CeeDee Lamb has fallen to 15 to the Broncos. The Broncos need some more weapons for their young QB, Drew Lock. They have Cortland Sutton and Noah Fant, but that’s it. The Broncos need a nice receiver to pair with Cortland Sutton.

16. Falcons

AJ Epenesa Iowa Edge

The Falcons are moving on from Vic Beasley and have been lacking a true pass rush for a while it seems like. Epenesa might be the best Edge rusher left available for the Falcons to choose from.

17. Cowboys

Xavier McKinney Alabama S

The Cowboys before the trade deadline were looking to trade for a big name Safety but now they get the best Safety available. Xavier McKinney will be great to the Cowboys because of their secondary possibly leaving during free agency.

18.Browns (Trade with Dolphins from Steelers)

Grant Delpit LSU S

The Browns traded down so they lost out on the top Offensive Tackles. They get Grant Delpit who at this time last year was considered a top 10 pick. His production went down this year and he didn’t have a season like people thought he was going to have.

19. Raiders (From Bears)

Kristian Fulton LSU CB

Raiders trade Gareon Conley back in October for a 3rd round pick and now need to find his replacement in the draft. Kristian Fulton the top corner available will be a great for Gruden’s young defense.

20. Jaguars (From Rams)

Patrick Queen LSU LB

The Jaguars need a Linebacker because the future of Telvin Smith is uncertain. He could be a day 1 starter for the Jaguars as they try to retool their defense.

21. Eagles

Laviska Shenault Jr. Colorado WR

At the end of the season, the Eagles reciever room was depleted and had to play a practice squad player at WR at the end. This move right here is for depth and most likely means Nelson Agholor is leaving and they get a stretch WR who can help Wentz out.

22. Bills

K’Lavon Chaisson LSU Edge

The Bills are one edge rusher away from being a truly elite defense. Chaisson will be the guy the Bills need to put them over the hump.

23. Patriots

Yetur Gross-Matos Penn State Edge

The Patriots could be looking for a QB or a TE at this pick but they get a pass rusher to help their defense out.

24. Saints

Trevon Diggs Alabama CB

The Saints desperately need another corner on the other side from Marshon Lattimore. They grab the best possible corner available in Diggs to help make their secondary elite.

25. Vikings

C.J. Henderson Florida CB

With Xavier Rhodes surprising decline this season, the Vikings are in need of a corner. C.J. Henderson can be the guy that most likely takes over for Xavier Rhodes.

26. Dolphins (From Texans)

J.K. Dobbins Ohio St. RB

The Dolphins in the middle of the season traded away Kenyan Drake, so now they desperately need a Running Back. Their leading rusher this year was Ryan Fitzpatrick so that should tell you a lot about their offense this year. J.K. Dobbins perhaps the best Running Back this season in College Football should give their rush offense a boost.

27. Seahawks

Austin Jackson USC OT

The Seahawks generally have one of the worst pass blocking Offensive Lines in the NFL. They need to protect their franchise QB in Russell Wilson. They go out and get perhaps a project or a starter right away in Austin Jackson. If Jackson has a go combine/pro day he might go mid First Round

28.Ravens

Kenneth Murray Oklahoma LB

The Ravens need some help at the linebacker spot after they let C.J. Mosley walk last off-season. They get Kenneth Murray who can rush the pass and play in coverage. Murray has the potential to be a great linebacker in the NFL if he gets in the right system.

29.Titans

Terrell Lewis Alabama Edge

The Titans get Terrell Lewis to help their rush defense. He can be helpful for Jurrell Casey and for last year's first round selection Jeffery Simmons. The Titans could possibly have an elite front if Lewis and Simmons develop well.

30. Colts (Trade with Packers)

Jordan Love Utah State QB

The Colts here move up to take a risk at QB with Jordan Love. He did not have the best season but has all the tools to make it in the NFL. I’ve heard some people compare him to Patrick Mahomes, talking about how he’s a boom or bust prospect. In the right system he can excel and but in the wrong system he could suck.

31.49ers

A.J. Terrell Clemson CB

The 49ers towards the end of the season lacked at the corner position. They have Richard Sheman but the reps on the other side of the field. A.J. Terrell could be great for the 49ers as they try to make it back to the Super Bowl next year with their elite defense.

32. Chiefs

Raekwon Davis Alabama DT

The Chiefs have won the Super Bowl, congrats! Now they need to boost their defensive line with Raekwon Davis who can be a great rotational guy for them. Chris Jones is most likely going to recieve the franchise tag but just in case, Davis is a great guy to replace him.
