What A Way To Kick Off The 2018 Season For The Auburn Tigers

Covey Jones

What a way to kickoff the 2018 season for the Auburn Tigers! The Tigers have had some bad memories their last two trips to Atlanta but now they can finally say they have a win in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

While down 16-15 to the Washington Huskies the Tigers scored a touchdown their opening possession but failing to convert their two-point conversion. Jarrett Stidham really had Auburn offense going he was 26-36 and threw for 273 yards with 1 touchdown and 0 interceptions. Kam Martin ran for 80 yards with 22 carries, and Ryan Davis had 7 receptions for 52 yards. But with 6:15 left in the game in the 4th quarter JaTarvious Whitlow ran for a 10 yard touchdown to give Auburn the lead. Although the Tigers defense made mistakes and got a lot of penalties they made up for it late in the game stopping the Huskies from scoring on their last and final possession of the game on 4th&16. The Tigers had 12 penalties that hasn’t happened in years. That’s something Auburn must clean up if they want to continue to win games.

Auburn really has a chance to win the National Championship this year with there great defense and they have a great leader at the Quarterback position. The Tigers still have a lot of work to do but they still have time to prepare for next weeks game vs Alabama state at Jordan-Hare stadium in Auburn.
