Coming into the final week of the regular season the road to Hoover is becoming more and more clear. Florida sealed up their back to back SEC regular-season crown with a series win over the Georgia Bulldogs.
With Florida wrapping up the SEC crown and Alabama being eliminated from the SEC Tournament every other team has something to prove in the last week of the season. As of right now Mississippi State, Tennessee, and Missouri are all competing for the last two spots in Hoover.
Alabama
Overall: 26-27 (7-20 SEC)
The Crimson Tide has struggled all year to find the winning formula in order to compete in the SEC. Alabama will close out the 2018 campaign as they play host to the mighty Ole Miss Rebels for a Thursday- Saturday series.
Missouri
Overall: 31-20 (10-17 SEC)
Missouri had a massive chance this past weekend to get a much needed RPI win but dropped the series to South Carolina. The Tigers have struggled all season to get the key hits needed to win and last weekend was no different. The Tigers can still make the Tournament with wins over Indiana State on Tuesday, and Tennessee at home,
Tennessee
Overall: 28-25 (11-16 SEC)
The Volunteers are likely to miss the NCAA Tournament this season but had a massive opportunity to make the SEC with a win over Vanderbilt but the Commodores proved to be much for the Vols as they dropped the series at home to a pesky Vanderbilt squad. Tennessee will travel to Missouri on Thursday to face the Tigers in a must-win for the Volunteers.
Mississippi State
Overall: 28-24 ( 12-15 SEC)
The Bulldogs blew a massive shot this past weekend in Lexington as they dropped two out of three to the Kentucky Wildcats. The preseason number one is on the brink of not making any postseason play as they travel to Florida to play the Gators this weekend.
Vanderbilt
Overall: 27-24 ( 13-14)
Vanderbilt much like Mississippi State has been a weird team all year lacking the winning consistency that the Commodores are so prone to having under Tim Corbin. Vanderbilt will look to carry momentum from the weekend win at Tennessee as they host MTSU and Kentucky at Hawkins Field.
Texas A&M
Overall: 34-17 (12-15 SEC)
The Aggies coming into the season were trying to make a back to back appearances in the College World Series, yet this season they have yet to put it together. The Aggies are coming off an embarrassing sweep at Arkansas over the weekend. Texas A&M will host Sam Houston State, and South Carolina this week in College Station.
LSU
Overall: 31-21 ( 14-13 SEC)
LSU is looking to gain some traction as they travel to the plains to face the Auburn Tigers this week. If the Tigers can go to Auburn and find a series win the Tigers will be set up beautifully for the SEC Tournament in Hoover.
South Carolina
Overall: 30-21 ( 15-12 SEC)
The Gamecocks are high off a massive road series win at Missouri and will look to carry that high into a road series at Texas A&M. If the Gamecocks dig deep and find a win to the series in College Station some might have them the sleeper of next weeks SEC Tournament.
Kentucky
Overall: 33-18 ( 13-14 SEC)
Kentucky has been a weird team throughout the season looking unstoppable at times and completely beatable at others. The Wildcats are coming off two massive wins over Indiana and Mississippi State. Kentucky desperately needed the confidence heading into the final stretch into Hoover. Kentucky will be on the road this week as they travel Murray State on Tuesday before heading to Nashville to play Vanderbilt on Thursday.
Auburn
Overall: 35-17 ( 13-14 SEC)
After getting swept by the Ole Miss Rebels in Oxford this past weekend, the Tigers are looking for two huge wins over Troy, and LSU this week. Auburn is still in the running for a top sixteen seed and an opportunity to host a regional but need to find three wins this week to help with RPI and momentum into Hoover.
Georgia
Overall: 35-16 ( 16-11 SEC)
The Georgia Bulldogs are coming off a series loss at the mighty Florida Gators. The Bulldogs will look to make a big push at hosting a regional with homes games with Presbyterian, and the Arkansas Razorbacks. If Georgia can pull off a series win over the Razorbacks the Bulldogs will only solidify themselves as a host site for a Regional.
Ole Miss
Overall: 39-13 (16-11 SEC)
The Rebels have the body of work to be a top-eight national seed which means the Rebels are likely to host not only a regional but a super regional as well. Ole Miss is coming into the week after a massive sweep over Auburn, where the Rebels earned head coach Mike Bianco his 800th career win. Ole Miss travels to Jonesboro to face Arkansas State on Tuesday, before making the trip to Tuscaloosa on Thursday to face the struggling Crimson Tide.
Arkansas
Overall: 36-15 ( 17-10 SEC)
The Razorbacks have struggled on the road throughout the season and will look to change that at Georgia this coming weekend. With a series win this weekend in Athens, Arkansas will likely be a top-eight seed heading into the NCAA Tournament. Arkansas swept the Aggies this past weekend at home.
Florida
Overall: 41-12 (20-7 SEC)
Florida has been the absolute best throughout the entire season and has been completely unstoppable within SEC play. Having won every single SEC series this season the Gators will look to carry that into Tournament next week. Florida will travel to Starkville to face Mississippi State. The Gators will look to make it a clean sweep in Conference play before traveling to Hoover to defend the SEC Tournament crown.
With just one week left in conference play, the action is bound to entertain fans across the South. One this is for certain Hoover will be a tournament for the ages with all twelve teams making it has a legitimate shot at the crown.
