Ole Miss Takes Series Over Auburn

Oxford: The Ole Miss Rebels take a massive series win over the Auburn Tigers on Friday night at Swayze Field. The Rebels drop Auburn eight to three to win game two and the overall series against the Tigers.

Brady Fiegal was an absolute terror on the mound tonight eight and third innings giving up only three runs, nine hits, and striking out an impressive twelve batters. With the win that will give Brady a record of 8-4 on the season.

The bats were on fire tonight for the Ole Miss Rebels going for thirteen hits, and eight runs. The Rebels were led by Thomas Dillard who went three for four with three hits, scoring two runs. Tyler Keenan was also huge for the Rebels going three for four, with three hits, including a massive two run home in the bottom half of the fourth to push the Rebel lead to five to one. The Rebels would eventually close the game to win eight to three over the Auburn Tigers.

With the win the Rebels improve to 38-13 overall and 15-11 in conference play. Head Coach Mike Bianco earned his 800th career win tonight with the win over Auburn.

Auburn falls to 35-16 overall, and 13-13 in conference play. The Tigers are still in play to host a regional according to multiple college baseball sites.

Ole Miss will go for the sweep on Saturday at four from Swayze Field in Oxford. If Ole Miss can find a way to sweep Auburn on Saturday that would essentially wrap Ole Miss being an at- large top eight seed in the NCAA Tournament.Which would be crucial to a run at Omaha for the Rebels.
