Frisco: Mayhem is the only true way how to describe the action in the Quarterfinals action here at the Conference USA tournament in Frisco. This session saw a massive March Madness upset as the nine seed Southern Miss Golden Eagles shocked Middle Tennessee State 71-68 in OT. The action did not stop with that game either things got interesting for Marshall as they beat UTSA 95-81 to advance to Friday's Semifinal match up with the cinderella Southern Miss Golden Eagles. In the late night cap Louisiana Tech and Old Dominion met to battle for a spot in Friday's semifinal game. Old Dominion edged out Louisiana Tech in a thriller 62-58 to advance to Friday's semifinal game where they will face the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. Western Kentucky found revenge in a huge fashion over UAB with a massive 98-70 win.
If the Quarterfinals are any indication of what is to come in the Semifinal round we are in for a true March Madness treat the rest of the Conference USA tournament here in Frisco. Will the magic run out on Southern Miss, or will the Golden Eagles keep souring? Will Western Kentucky beat Old Dominion for a third time this year?
